Boston Bruins Assign Ten to Providence Bruins

The Boston Bruins, following a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers, assigned ten players to their AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins. Providence opens training camp this week and starts its preseason schedule on Friday. The ten players assigned are Joey Abate, Luke Cavallin, Ty Cheveldayoff, Jackson Edward, Colin Felix, Ty Gallagher, Loke Johansson, Jake Schmaltz, Max Wanner, and Simon Zajicek.

Joey Abate

Abate last season in 44 games for Providence had 12 points on eight goals and four assists. He was a minus-one.

Luke Cavallin

Cavallin last season played in three games for the Laval Rocket, going 1-1-0 with a 2.46 goals-against average and a .897 save percentage. In 32 games with the Trois-Rivieres Lions went 19-10-2 with a 2.13 goals-against average, a .929 save percentage, and three shutouts.

Ty Cheveldayoff

Cheveldayoff last season with the Jacksonville Icemen of the ECHL played in 66 games. He had 19 points on six goals and 13 assists. He was a plus-one with a shorthanded goal and 175 penalty minutes.

Jackson Edward

Edward played in 31 games for Providence last season, had seven points on a goal and six assists. He was a minus-five. In seven games with the Maine Mariners in the ECHL, he had a goal and an assist; he finished as a minus-three.

Colin Felix

Felix spent last season with the Rockford IceHogs, playing in 36 games. He recorded five points on a goal and four assists. That goal was his first career in the AHL. He finished with a minus-ten .

Ty Gallagher

Gallagher played in 37 games last season at Colorado College, recording 26 points on nine goals and 17 assists. He was a plus-seven. In 11 games with Providence, he had five points on a goal and four assists. He was a plus-two.

Loke Johansson

Johansson played in 62 games last season in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats. He had 22 points on four goals and 18 assists. He was a +46.

Jack Schmaltz

Schmaltz played in 38 games with the University of North Dakota, recording 16 points on six goals and ten assists. He was a plus-two. In four games for Providence, he scored a goal and was a plus-two.

Max Wanner

Wanner spent time with the Bakersfield Condors last season, along with Providence, playing in 37 games between the two. He recorded five points on a goal and four assists. He finished as a plus-five.

Simon Zajicek

Zajicek played in 29 games for HC Litvinov in Czechia. He went 15-13-0 with a 2.12 goals-against average, a .930 save percentage, and five shutouts.
