The Boston Bruins were expected to make a move in net this off-season, but now comments from new Head Coach Marco Sturm suggest a change to those plans.

Coming into the summer, many changes were expected in Boston, and after months of waiting, the team have finally announced their new Head Coach, with former forward Marco Sturm returning to the Bruins to be their coach, something his family has seemingly been wanting for quite some time.

In his first press conference, one of Sturm's comments raised plenty of eyebrows among Bruins fans, with suggestions that one key off-season plan may now change due to his comments.

When addressing the goaltending and overall outlook of the team, Sturm had this to say:

'I still love our team, even without any additions, because I think we have good goaltending, I think when everyone stays healthy, we have a really good D corps.'

Some took that to mean that the team are simply confident in their future and their present no matter who takes the ice, but now, suggestions have been made that Sturm was hinting at keeping goaltender Joonas Korpisalo, who was outwardly upset with the way things went late in his first season with the team.

With Brandon Bussi and Michael DiPietro waiting in the wings, the expectation was that Korpisalo would be traded this summer, making way for one of those names to win the backup job behind Jeremy Swayman, allowing the Bruins to be a little more aggressive in adding other pieces.

Ultimately though, plans may not have changed and this may have been a simple vote of confidence from Sturm, but with the team needing to make a change, fans are hoping to see Korpisalo and his $3 million AAV contract traded at some point in the off-season.
