Boston Bruins Place Max Guenette on Waivers

The Boston Bruins today placed defenseman Max Guenette on waivers with the purpose of sending him to Providence. He appeared in last night’s game against the Flyers, where he had 14:42 TOI and was a plus-two.

The Ottawa Senators drafted Guenette 187th overall in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He spent four seasons in the QMJHL with Val-d’Or Foreurs. Guenette appeared in 227 games, recording 106 points on 25 goals and 81 assists. He was a -60. In 26 playoff games, he had 12 points on four goals and eight assists. He was a plus-eight.

Since turning pro, he’s appeared in eight career NHL games, all with Ottawa, and he’s a minus-two with two penalty minutes. He’s appeared in 282 career AHL games, most recently with Lehigh Valley. Last season with the Phantoms, he appeared in 46 games, recording 24 points on two goals and 22 assists; he was a minus-six. During his AHL career, he’s recorded 140 points on 29 goals and 111 assists. He’s a minus-ten with eight power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and six game-winning goals. In seven playoff games, he has an assist and is a minus-five.

If he clears waivers, he will report to the Providence Bruins training camp and play in their preseason game over the weekend.
