Brad Marchand's future in the NHL is set in Florida, and now he's made a profound statement on his potential retirement in the years to come.

Brad Marchand was traded to the Florida Panthers at the 2025 NHL trade deadline, and ever since that he's been on fire with the Panthers, playing a key role in landing them their second ever Stanley Cup, winning back-to-back over the Oilers in 2024 and 2025.

After that, the former Bruins captain signed a controversial deal, locking him in until the age of 43, with many complaining that his long-term deal could be against the NHL rules.

Brad Marchand Intends to Play Until He's 43 On His New Deal With the Panthers

As a result, the belief is that he's simply going to play a few years before retirement, with the low AAV on his deal helping out the Panthers, but now, he's addressed his playing future in the NHL with RGMedia in the most Brad Marchand way possible.

The longer you play, you realize how close you are to the finish. I'm going to play until I can't anymore.

They're going to have to kick me out.

In a defiant statement, Marchand notes that they'll have to kick him off the ice before he retires, showing that he plans to play out every season of his current deal with the potential dynasty that is the Florida Panthers.

Marchand still thriving at 37-years of age

While some accused Marchand of taking a step back this season, he showed in the Stanley Cup Playoffs why he's been so successful in the NHL for such a long time, tallying 10 goals and 20 points in 23 post-season games.

Ultimately, Marchand plays a gritty, tough style, but he's shown very few signs of slowing down, and with the Panthers putting their support behind him with a long-term deal this off-season, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him playing well into his 40's.
