Competition is fierce during tournaments like the 4 Nations Face-Off. However, there remains a place for grace as Brad Marchand sent a heartfelt message to Charlie McAvoy.

The 4 Nations Face-Off tournament has proven to be a success for the NHL, as the Team USA-Team Canada match delivered some of the highest ratings for a professional hockey game in some time.

However, hidden in all the glory are the ugly parts of the game. One of those suffering from an injury is Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy, who has suited up for Team USA.

This put the Bruins teammates in a precarious spot, as captain Brad Marchand was asked about McAvoy's injury situation.

To which he stated, he had no intention of speaking to them while they had business to finish on the ice. Keep your mind focused on the end goal right?

Well, after he was injured, Marchand felt that he needed to check up on his close friend.

A heartwarming message from the captain.

Team USA has Canada beat in points, and in the rankings, with a record of 2-1 and six points in this standings, while Canada has five at the moment.

There's truth to the fact that Marchand has to remain focused on his game in order to secure one of the biggest wins that could happen this year for Canada.

But even then, you have to set aside competition for sportsmanship and friendship.

While McAvoy remains out of the lineup, Marchand is attending to his friend, and captain duties include checking in on his close friend.

But come Thursday, the lines are drawn and the match is set, as the USA-Canada showdown should prove to be an electrifying hockey game once again.
