Are teams in the NHL interested in Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk? Sure, why wouldn’t they be? From the way he plays to the leadership qualities he brings on the ice, but that does not mean he is available. It is like if you are interested in dating someone; it does not mean they are available. Sure, it is fun to fantasize about, but in reality, he is not going anywhere.
The Ottawa Senators have made it pretty clear that captain Brady Tkachuk will be here for a while, and they are tired. Especially owner Michael Andlauer is tired of putting out these fires. They all go back to the end of last season when former NHLer and current NHL Network analyst Mike Rupp said in a conversation that the New Jersey Devils should trade for Brady Tkachuk.
Immediately after that came out, the Senators had to put out that fire by saying he was not available for trade this past off-season. And since then, things have not gone away.
Even during the summer, Full Press Hockey’s own Murray Pam spoke about the matter on July 1, reiterating Tkachuk was not going anywhere.
We hear the rumors all the time. But you know what, none of those rumors are out of Ottawa. They’re pretty baseless here. I think all it was obviously Matthew is having success in Florida. They won the Stanley Cup, Brady is his brother. He’s with him all the time. Obviously, he wants to see success for the Ottawa Senators. He’s here for the length of his contract, obviously.
I mean, at the end of the season, he aired his disappointment. He wears his heart on the sleeve. That’s Brady, and he aired his disappointment at no point did he say he wanted to be traded. He also said he had faith in general manager Steve Staios that he’s going to improve the team. – Murray Pam Ottawa Senators Writers at Full Press Hockey (Member of the PHWA Ottawa Chapter)

Now the latest one coming on Friday. There were speculations and rumors that the New York Rangers were interested in and wanted to go for Tkachuk. Again, Full Press Hockey reported, along with Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen, that Brady Tkachuk was not going anywhere. In addition, he was never mentioned in trade talks between the Senators and Rangers.

On the first day of the Board of Governors, Andlauer made it clear he was not happy with the rumors and speculation and called it ‘soft tampering’ when he spoke with Pierre LeBrun of TSN.
In addition, Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen caught up with the Ottawa Senators owner about the rumors.
“I care about our players,” Andlauer wrote from Florida. “And I care about how this (because) these types of stories can be disruptive to them, their families, their teammates and our fans. “I cannot just sit and watch someone try and disrupt our organization using blatant misinformation without pushing back.”
This story will never go away. However, Brady Tkachuk has the will and determination to see things through in Ottawa. He has three years left on his current deal with the Senators and is the face of this franchise along with Tim Stutzle. It was a different situation in Calgary with his brother Matthew. As Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet said on his 32 Thoughts Podcast, it is unfair to bunch them together.
Brady Tkachuk is a cornerstone of the Ottawa Senators, and he wants to see everything through to the end.
