Brett Howden, a member of the St. Louis Blues who was a part of the 2018 Team Canada World Junior team, has denied involvement in the alleged sexual assault that featured eight members of the team.

Howden’s agent, J.P. Barry, sent a statement to Josh K. Elliott of Narcity claiming that Howden that he had no contact, physically or verbally, with the complainant and that he’s cooperated fully with Hockey Canada in their investigation and he’ll do so with the NHL’s investigation.

Many players from the team have stated that they weren’t involved in the alleged incident: Jordan Kyrou, Taylor Raddysh, Carter Hart, Jake Bean, Kale Clague, Colton Point, Sam Steel, Conor Timmins, Robert Thomas, Victor Mete, Cale Makar, Jonah Gadjovich, Dante Fabbro, Cal Foote, Dillon Dubé, Boris Katchouk, and now Howden.

The only players who have not spoken on the matter at the time of publishing are Alex Formenton, Maxime Comtois, Drake Batherson, Tyler Steenbergen, and Michael McLeod.

The allegation states that eight players from Canada’s World Junior team sexually assaulted a woman in a hotel in London, Ontario, following a Hockey Canada event celebrating the team’s gold-medal win at the 2018 tournament in Buffalo.

The criminal suit with London police was settled in May before reaching court but the National Hockey League is set to launch an investigation into the situation. All of the players who were on the team will be involved in the NHL’s investigation.

Howden was a first-round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2016 NHL Draft. He currently plays for the Vegas Golden Knights.
