The Vegas Golden Knights were on the brutal end of a missed tripping call in Game 2, and after the game, Bruce Cassidy called out the NHL officials, with many fans and analysts believing that the Golden Knights were robbed due to this dreadful missed call.
The second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs isn't going how the Vegas Golden Knights were hoping, as the team are now behind 2-0 in their clash with the rival Edmonton Oilers.
However, they have been on the short end of a very bad call, with Game 2 ending in overtime just seconds after the officials missed a blatant tripping call on veteran forward Viktor Arvidsson.
Somehow, the officials managed to miss this call, and it resulted in Leon Draisaitl finishing the game moments later, with Head Coach Bruce Cassidy blasting the missed call after the game.
The referee is looking at it, He blew it. He missed the call. I don't know what else to say. It's a can opener. It's a dangerous play. It's all those things.
Cassidy was very straight forward in his criticisms here, stating that it was a simple call that the officials got wrong, and while the team could have still fought through and won the game, clearly it effected them on the ice as they were defeated just seconds later.
Ultimately, this was a dreadful miss from the officials, as they were steps away from what should have been a very easy call to make, but now that's in the past and the Golden Knights need to focus on bouncing back to make this series 2-1 and 2-2 as they look to get back to Vegas for a Game 5.
