Bruins-Canadiens game Saturday postponed due to COVID-19

Starting on Saturday, some sports arenas in Canada will be reduce its maximum capacity to 50% at home games again due to rising COVID-19 cases linked with the Omicron variant. The Montreal Canadiens haven't been listed among those teams yet, but they won't have to worry about any kinds of crowds for this weekend anyways.

Per the NHL Public Relations Department, the game doesn't have a make-up date scheduled yet and the Canadiens are planning to resume their regular-season schedule on Monday against the New York Islanders. The Bruins announced on Thursday that three players and one staff member were added to the already-lengthy list of people in the league's health and safety protocol.

Boston is far from the only NHL team currently dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak. The Calgary Flames are arguably the most notable example right now, as they have already had four games postponed and they added two players and one staff member to the NHL health and safety protocol on Thursday.

The Bruins' next scheduled game is against the Ottawa Senators at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday.
