The Boston Bruins continue to stay busy leading up to free agency.

On Monday, general manager Don Sweeney announced the team has re-signed defenseman Henri Jokiharju, forward Johnny Beecher and Michael DiPietro to contract extensions.

Jokiharju remains in the fold with a three-year deal, carrying an AAV of $3 million through the 2027-28 season. The 26-year-old took a slight pay cut from his one-year, $3.1 million contract that he signed with the Buffalo Sabres last July. The Finnish blueliner came to Boston at this past year’s trade deadline, as the Bruins gave up a 2026 fourth-round pick to acquire Jokiharju.

In his 18 games with the Bruins, he registered four assists and a plus/minus of +7. In total, Jokiharju scored three goals and seven assists for 10 points in 60 games. On top of his NHL season, he got to play for his country at the 4 Nations Face-Off, scoring a goal in all three games for Suomi.

Beecher returns to the Bruins on a one-year, $900,000 contract. The former Michigan Wolverine is coming off his first full season in the NHL, after splitting the first few seasons of his pro career in Boston and with the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins. In 2024-25 with Boston, the Elmira, New York native scored three goals and eight assists for 11 points.

In 130 NHL appearances, the 24-year-old has scored 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points.

DiPietro has agreed to a two-year contract with an AAV of $812,500, which will last through the 2026-27 campaign. The former top prospect is coming off his best of his young career. In 40 games with Providence, the Ottawa 67s product set career highs in wins (26), goals-against average (2.05) and save percentage (.927). DiPietro was named an AHL First-Team All-Star and won the Baz Bastien Memorial Award as the league’s best goaltender.

The Windsor native has appeared in four NHL games in his career, the last one coming during the 2021-22 season with the Vancouver Canucks.
