The Boston Bruins’ historic season continues as they have now set the National Hockey League’s all-time regular-season points record with 133 points.

The previous record was held by the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens, who posted 132 points that year and went on to win their second of four straight Stanley Cups during the Canadiens dynasty.

Last month the Bruins became the fastest team in NHL history to 50 wins, then they earned their 63rd win of the season, setting the NHL record for most wins which was previously shared by the 1995-96 Detroit Red Wings and 2018-19 Tampa Bay Lightning.

They were crowned the unanimous Presidents Trophy winners, and now they’ve added yet another accolade to their historic season after defeating the Washington Capitals 5-2 Tuesday evening.

Brad Marchand opened the scoring for his 21st of the season, while David Pastrnak added his 50th assist of the season. Pastrnak added one more assist on Tyler Bertuzzi’s eighth goal of the season.

With goaltender Linus Ullmark picking up his 40th win of the season, he is now tied for most wins in Bruins franchise history.

The Bruins have the chance to further add to these achievements as they close out the season against none other than the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday.

The Bruins currently sit on the throne atop of the league with a record of 64-12-5.
