Buffalo Sabres Defenceman Going to Miss Time With Injury

Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff announced Monday afternoon that defenceman Michael Kesselring is being evaluated for an injury he sustained against the Detroit Red Wings. It is certain that Kesselring will miss some time, but there still isn’t an estimation on when he could return.

Sabres Defence Shorthanded…Again

The Kesselring injury comes an an unfortunate time for the Sabres. Captain Rasmus Dahlin just rejoined the group after taking a leave of absence for a personal matter. The Sabres defence was back to full-strength for one game, and now this injury happens. Kesselring has no injury history that would suggest his bad luck in Buffalo so far. This is the second time Kesselring is dealing with an injury so far this year. He missed the first nine games of the season due to a lower body injury, and the Sabres will be without him again. Either way, this is a blow to a defensive group that is battling through adversity to start this season.

Sabres Injuries Mounting

Kesselring will join a long list of players that are injured or missing time due to illness. Zach Benson is still on injured reserve.  Along with Justin Danforth and Jiri Kulich. the good news is Jason Zucker and Joshua Norris both rejoined the team for practice this morning. Both are a ways away from a return but it does bode well that they are back on the ice with the team. With those five all out, Kesselring will be the sixth NHL player the Sabres are without right now. Sabres fans will hope this evaluation comes back with good news. If it doesn’t, the Sabres uphill battle gets a little bit steeper.
