Calgary Flames announce 2024-25 pre-season schedule
Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

In a surefire sign that next season is creeping up on us, the Calgary Flames announced their pre-season schedule for the 2024-25 campaign on Tuesday morning.

Per tradition, the schedule includes eight games – four home and four away – including two games apiece against Pacific Division foes in the Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks and Seattle Kraken, and two more against the Central Division’s Winnipeg Jets.

Via the club, here’s the schedule:

  • Sun., Sept. 22: at Seattle
  • Mon., Sept. 23: at Edmonton and vs. Edmonton (split squad)
  • Wed., Sept. 25: at Vancouver (in Abbotsford)
  • Sat., Sept. 28: vs. Vancouver
  • Mon., Sept. 30: vs. Seattle
  • Wed., Oct. 2: at Winnipeg
  • Fri., Oct. 4: vs. Winnipeg

Broadcast information isn’t yet available for the games, but it’s reasonable to assume that Sportsnet 960 The Fan will have radio calls of almost all of the games – traditionally they only carry the Calgary half of the Flames/Oilers split squad set, but usually they have broadcasts of everything else.

The eight game pre-season calendar follows on the heels of the Flames’ participation in the Young Stars Classic rookie camp tournament in Penticton, BC, which occurs week prior to main camp opening.

Based on the announced dates for the pre-season, we would project that rookie camp will open on Thu., Sept. 12 and main camp will open on Thu., Sept. 19. So enjoy your summer while it lists: the 2024-25 hockey season will be here before you know it.
