Patrik Laine has missed the last four games due to what the Montreal Canadiens describes as "flu-like symptoms." We were eager to see if Laine would attend practice, but there won't be one after all.
During the Canadiens' media availability with Martin St. Louis, and we got an update on Patrik Laine. St. Louis confirmed he will not play Tuesday night against the Vancouver Canucks.
RDS journalist Luc Gélinas has raised some questions about the possible real reason behind Laine's absence, drawing a parallel to what happened with Evgeny Dadonov a few years ago.
"I think his flu looks a lot like Evgeny Dadonov's two years ago in St. Louis, when he didn't play for a week and a half but was still around his teammates [everywhere]. No one here believes that [Patrik Laine] has the flu..."
