Basu adds that the Canadiens received their second COVID-19 vaccine dose on June 9. While it's unclear if Ducharme received his dose on that day, he likely did.
Ducharme was promoted to head coach after the Canadiens fired Claude Julien in February. Montreal went 9-5-4 to start the season under Julien and went 15-16-7 with Ducharme.
