Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme isolating due to COVID-19 testing irregularities

Montreal Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme is isolating at home due to COVID-19 testing irregularities, according to The Athletic's Arpon Basu.

Ducharme will undergo further tests throughout the day.

Basu adds that the Canadiens received their second COVID-19 vaccine dose on June 9. While it's unclear if Ducharme received his dose on that day, he likely did.

Ducharme was promoted to head coach after the Canadiens fired Claude Julien in February. Montreal went 9-5-4 to start the season under Julien and went 15-16-7 with Ducharme.

The Habs are one of the NHL's final four teams and have an opportunity to make it back to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since the 1992-93 campaign.

Game 3 between the Canadiens and Vegas Golden Knights is set for Friday night. The series is currently tied 1-1.
