Brock Boeser’s time with the Vancouver Canucks appears to be winding down as Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reports that the talented right winger is expected to test unrestricted free agency.

Seravalli adds that the Canucks recently made another pitch to re-sign Boeser, who can become an unrestricted free agent as of Tuesday.

Ahead of the March trade deadline, Boeser was the subject of trade rumors, but after the deadline passed and he remained in British Columbia, Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin told reporters, “If I told you what I was offered for Brock Boeser, I think I would have to run out of here because you would not believe me.”

Through 75 games with the Canucks in 2024-25, Boeser tallied 25 goals and 25 assists to finish second in team scoring with 50 points coupled with 16 penalty minutes and a team-worst minus-25 rating.

Originally chosen 23rd overall by Vancouver in the 2015 NHL Draft, the 28-year-old native of Burnsville, Minn., has since appeared in 554 career contests with the Canucks in which he has collected 204 goals and 230 assists for 434 points. Boeser has also added 11 goals and 12 assists for 23 points in 29 postseason appearances.

Per PuckPedia, Boeser is in the final year of a three-year pact that carries a $6.65-million average annual value.

On Wednesday, the Canucks acquired left winger Evander Kane from the Pacific Division rival Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a fourth-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Sidelined for the entire 2024-25 regular season due to injury, the 33-year-old Vancouver native later returned for the Oilers’ playoff run in which he put up 12 points counting six goals and six assists in 21 games.

Kane has one year remaining on a four-year contract worth $5.125 million per season, according to PuckPedia.
