The Vancouver Canucks announced more bad news on goalie Thatcher Demko on Tuesday.
According to a spokesperson, via The Athletic's Thomas Drance, the starting netminder is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury and will not travel with the team for their upcoming five-game road trip.
The Hockey News' Adam Kierzszenblat added that Demko "will be reevaluated when the team returns from their road trip which ends March 1 in Seattle."
Demko suffered the injury on Feb. 8 in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, leaving in the first period after showing discomfort in warmups, logging just 10 minutes of play in net.

Speaking after that game, Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet downplayed the severity of the injury and revealed that “something happened during the game,” forcing Demko out, while adding that the issue "was not the knee," referring to Demko's past injuries.
This marks the third stretch of the season that Demko has missed due to injury after starting the year on the sidelines. He was also sidelined in early January after leaving a game against the Seattle Kraken on Jan. 2 with back spasms.
Before this latest setback, Demko had played some of his best hockey this season, recording his first shutout of the campaign in a 3–0 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 4.
The 29-year-old has posted a 6-6-3 record this season with a 2.87 goals-against average and a .891 save percentage in 17 games.
With Demko unavailable, the Canucks will rely on Kevin Lankinen and Arturs Silovs during their upcoming road trip, which features games against Vegas, Utah, Los Angeles, Anaheim, and Seattle.
