Canucks recall F Ty Mueller from AHL Abbotsford

After a slow start to the 2025-26 campaign, where he scored just one goal and zero assists through the first 12 games, Mueller found his game again, tallying 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points in 59 games played. His 35 points rank second on the team, trailing Nils Aman by just two points.

In what was his first professional season in 2024-25, Mueller’s role continued to grow as the season wore on. Abbotsford head coach Manny Malhotra elevated him throughout the lineup, trusting him in all situations: on the power play, penalty kill, late in the game to protect the lead, and in the circle when the team needed to win a big faceoff.

That increased usage resulted in a rookie campaign of 12 goals and 27 assists for 39 points with a plus-15 rating in 64 regular season games. Mueller was honoured as the Abbotsford Canucks representative at the 2025 AHL All Star Game. These efforts were noticed by the higher-ups club, where he played two games in Vancouver, logging 10:56 and 9:39 minutes of ice time, but is still searching for his first NHL points.

The Edmonton, Alberta, native added three goals and nine assists for 12 points and a plus-seven rating in 24 postseason games, en route to a Calder Cup Championship. Mueller stepped up his game in that Calder Cup Finals, where he scored the game-tying goal in the third period of Game 1 before Danila Klimovich sealed the victory in double overtime. He would finish the finals with four points and a plus-two rating.

With nine games remaining on the schedule, the 2023 fourth-round pick will have a solid stretch now to prove he’s developed well enough in Abbotsford to contest for a starting bottom-six role in Vancouver for the 2025-26 season.
