Capitals' Garnet Hathaway assessed game misconduct for boarding Bruins' Jarred Tinordi

Things between the Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins got a bit out of control on Sunday.

First, Capitals forward Tom Wilson caught Bruins forward Sean Kuraly up high with an elbow. Then Caps forward Garnet Hathaway was assessed a game misconduct for boarding Bruins defenseman Jarred Tinordi.

It's unclear if Hathaway will face supplemental discipline for his hit on Tinordi. He has been suspended only once in his NHL career for a spitting incident involving former Anaheim Ducks defenseman Erik Gudbranson in 2019.

Hathaway has notched four goals and 10 assists in 46 games this season.

The Bruins ended up defeating the Capitals 6-3 on Sunday to improve to 25-12-6 on the season.
