Cederqvist Traded for Future Considerations
Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Sabres announced Thursday that they have traded forward prospect Filip Cederqvist to the Montreal Canadiens for future considerations. Cederqvist was a fifth round draft selection (143rd overall) by the Sabres back in 2019.

The move frees up a contract for Buffalo, who now have 44 out of a maximum 50 contracts used. The 22 year-old Cederqvist was victim to a numbers game in AHL Rochester, with the Sabres holding 12 other forwards under contract in the minors. Out of those forward prospects, only Aleksandr Kisakov and Olivier Nadeau have appeared in less games for the club.

Prior to the trade, Cederqvist had one goal and three assists in 19 games this season.
