
The Chicago Blackhawks are bringing back goalie Drew Commesso on a two-year, two-way deal. He made three appearances for Chicago, going 2-1-0 with a 2.31 goals-against average, a .918 save percentage, and a shutout. He made 37 starts with Rockford in the AHL. Commesso went 13-20-3 with a 3.08 goals-against average, a .901 save percentage, and a shutout.

The Blackhawks drafted Commesso 46th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He spent three seasons with Boston University, where he went 43-22-4 with a .914 save percentage, a 2.57 goals-against average, and three shutouts. He helped lead the Terriers to the Frozen Four in his final season before losing to Minnesota in the Semifinals. Following his junior season, he joined the Blackhawks organization. Since then, he has made five appearances for the Blackhawks, going 2-2-0 with a 2.61 goals-against average, a .901 save percentage, and a shutout. In three seasons with the IceHogs, he’s appeared in 114 games, going 49-51-10. Commesso had a 2.75 goals-against average, a .906 save percentage, and seven shutouts. In ten Calder Cup Playoff games, he’s 5-5-0 with a 2.42 goals-against average, a .922 save percentage, and a shutout.
