On Monday, there is a lot of talk about defenseman Jamie Oleksiak out of Dallas. That said, the chances he’s moved before the trade deadline are not huge. TSN’s Frank Seravalli noted on TSN Trade Center that the Stars are not keen on moving the defenseman because they want to keep their team together and there are some questions about the NHL Expansion Draft that the Stars are keeping in the back of their mind all day today.
In case you missed it, a few weeks ago I had a conversation with Jamie Oleksiak about this day.

Stars’ Jamie Oleksiak, traded twice in 13 months, understands realities of the deadline https://t.co/oMHVI0vr5u
Emily Kaplan writes : “Defensemen to keep an eye on today: Dmitry Kulikov (NJD), Michael Del Zotto (CBJ) and Jamie Oleksiak (DAL). As of yesterday, I heard Dallas was still undecided on whether to move Oleksiak or not, so that’s a situation to watch.”
There’s chatter the Edmonton Oilers might have kicked tires here and Michael Augello quotes Darren Dreger who noted that potential depth defensemen targets for the Toronto Maple Leafs include Jamie Oleksiak, Nikita Zadorov, Michael Del Zotto and Erik Gudbranson. Perhaps the Winnipeg Jets are a fit.
We’ll have to wait and see if the demand to acquire Oleksiak outweighs Dallas’ desire to hang on to him. He’s a good 2nd or 3rd pairing guy depending on the team. His game has come a long way and he’s playing with tons of confidence.
