Connor Bedard Suffers Injury in Loss to Blues

The Chicago Blackhawks suffered a 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues tonight. On the face off with 0.8 seconds left, the Blackhawks saw their superstar Connor Bedard go down with an injury. He got up and skated off straight to the dressing room. It appeared to be an injury to his shoulder. The injury to Bedard will be something to watch as the Blackhawks have a quick turnaround with the Red Wings coming to town tomorrow.

Bedard this season has 44 points in 30 games. He has 19 goals and 25 assists. He is a plus-eight with five power-play goals and three game-winning goals. Bedard is tied for third in the league in points, tied for fourth in goals, and tenth in assists after tonight. He is The Blackhawks, despite tonight’s loss, are one point out of a playoff spot. If Bedard is out for a significant amount of time, they may fall out of the race.

The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Bedard first overall in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. In 180 career games, he has 170 points on 64 goals and 106 assists. He’s a -72 with 20 power-play goals and ten game-winning goals. He won the Calder Trophy in his rookie season in 2023-24. That season, in 68 games, he had 61 points on 22 goals and 39 assists. He was a -44 with four power-play goals and two game-winning goals.
