Connor Bedard under attack after attempting the Michigan

Connor Bedard is easily one of the most exciting players in the entire NHL and going into his sophomore season with the Chicago Blackhawks, fans are expecting big things.

On Tuesday night, Bedard played in his team's season opener against the Utah Hockey Club. Although the Blackhawks lost the game by a score of 5-2, Bedard was sensational in the game. He came through with two assists which is a solid way to kick off your sophomore year.

At one point during the game, Bedard attempted the Michigan, which is a Lacrosse-style goal that he actually scored on last season. However, this time around, it simply did not work.

The mere fact that Bedard even attempted this play rubbed a lot of fans the wrong way. In the tweets below, you can see fans give Bedard a whole lot of flack for what he tried to do here. Ultimately, they felt like the move was cheap. Moreover, some fans feel like this is going to lead to him getting his bell rung by the opposing team's enforcer.

Needless to say, Bedard is starting to rub some people the wrong way. Although one has to acknowledge that hockey culture has stifled this creativity for far too long. Finally, a player is coming in and being themselves, but apparently, it's not the 'right' way. Something has to change.
