The Edmonton Oilers got a big boost on Saturday when they got star center Leon Draisaitl back in action versus the Calgary Flames after he missed the previous four games due to a lower-body injury.
Draisaitl made his mark immediately upon his return to the ice, as he recorded two goals with an assist to help his team eke out a 3-2 overtime victory. His first goal in the contest tied the game at 2-2 with under four minutes left in regulation.
It was also his 50th goal of the 2024-25 NHL regular season, an achievement that the Oilers celebrated with a post on Instagram.
Injured Oilers superstar center Connor McDavid saw that post and reshared it via Instagram Stories, adding an angry face emoji to put some more emphasis on his feelings about his teammate's feat.

Draisaitl also won the game for Edmonton when he lit the lamp in overtime. So far this season, the 29-year-old Draisaitl has 51 goals and 53 assists through 69 games for 104 points.
McDavid, meanwhile, remains sidelined with a lower-body issue that has forced him to sit the last four Edmonton games.
He is going to miss at least another game , as the three-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner is not with the Oilers for the start of a four-leg road trip that begins this coming Tuesday versus the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
