After such a crushing defeat in double overtime, Corey Perry and the Oilers are keeping their heads up, going so far as to fire a gritty warning to the Panthers.

The Edmonton Oilers were inches from capturing a 2-0 series advantage in the Stanley Cup Final, but Game 2 was lost in a heartbreak on Friday night.

Even though Corey Perry tied the game with 17.8 seconds left in regulation, Florida's Brad Marchand sealed the game for the Panthers in double overtime to even the series 1-1.

With the win, the Panthers regain home-ice advantage as the series now heads to Sunrise, Florida, for Game 3.

The Oilers were not hanging their heads following the loss. Grizzled winger Perry, who was in his fifth Stanley Cup Final in his last six seasons, was relaxed in his postgame interview.

'We lost with 0.4 seconds left a couple series ago. Those are tough,' Perry said. 'You know, you go home. Yeah, you can think about it. But tomorrow you get some rest and get on the plane and be ready for Game 3.'

Perry warned the Panthers that they will be pushing them to the max

He complimented the Panthers on their grit and acknowledged that both teams went into the series knowing that it would be a battle, and issued them a gritty warning.

'(The Panthers) are a good team. I keep saying they are a good team. They're going to push us to the max, and we're going to push them to the max,' Perry said. 'It's frustrating right now, but we're in the Final for a reason.'

Leon Draisaitl, who had a goal and an assist on the night, had the same perspective, stressing that looking ahead is more critical than focusing on what could've been.

'Every game is tight at this time of year, two really good teams,' Draisaitl said. 'It's never going to be easy. Regroup and move on.'

Game 3 comes Monday evening at 8 p.m. ET at Amerant Bank Arena, where momentum will be available in what's becoming a heated and closely contested series.
