Craig Berube is in his first year as Maple Leafs Head Coach, and as the team look to make the Eastern Conference Finals, he addresses the changes that have occurred since he took over.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been a team under fire for years now, and with the team on the verge of being eliminated in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, many are expecting them to fail and become the 'same old Maple Leafs' again.

However, the team showed heart in Game 6 to force their way back home for a Game 7, and when Head Coach Craig Berube was asked about the changes he's seen since he took over one year ago.

While the team have improved on the ice, Berube noted that it was the leadership group behind the scenes has grown more than anything, and with the heart and courage it took to bounce back from their 6-1 defeat in Game 5 to pick up the win in Florida, it's easy to see the difference.

A lot, to be honest with you. It is not maybe not so much what you see on the ice but what I see internally with how the leadership group has grown.

I always talk about the buy-in. A new change of a coach brings in a new system, a new identity of how we want to play, and a culture. I think our team has great buy-in. That is why it works. If you have the buy-in, it is going to work, and they bought in.

On addressing Game 7, Berube clearly knows that everything is on the line for this organization and the Core Four, and with the way he's coached things up for this team, they'll be ready.

Ultimately, this was a fantastic hire for the Maple Leafs, and even if they fall short in Game 7, it's easy to see how much the organization has improved since Berube's arrival, and now we'll see if they can make the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in decades or not.
