The Dallas Stars outlasted the Colorado Avalanche in Game 7 of the first round, earning the chance to advance. Dallas found themselves down a goal heading into the third period, but they never wavered, grabbing the win.
The Stars are awaiting the winner of the St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets series, but it seems that Dallas got another win today. Head coach Peter DeBoer announced that the Stars would be getting some major reinforcements for the second round.
DeBoer announced that Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen would return to the lineup sometime in the next series. Both players missed the entire first round for Dallas.
“I believe you’re going to see them both play in the second round, but I don’t know if it’s going to be Game 1 or Game 3 or Game 5,” DeBoer said after eliminating the Colorado Avalanche in Game 7 on Saturday. “I consider them both day-to-day now, but there’s still some hurdles. It depends on when we start the series, how much time we have between now and Game 1. We’ll have a little better idea as we get closer.”
With the Stars expected to get these two players back in the lineup, it could see them be even tougher to deal with. Dallas is already one of the better teams in the NHL, but injuries have caused some issues for them down the stretch.
Robertson suffered a brutal injury in the season finale, while Heiskanen has been out for months. If either, or both, can return in this series, it could change the entire trajectory of the Stars' season.
