Dallas Stars alternate captain Miro Heiskanen got married in Italy in front of teammates like Jamie Benn, Mikko Rantanen, and John Klingberg in a romantic event full of NHL love.

Last weekend, Dallas Stars defenseman and alternate captain Miro Heiskanen tied the knot with his longtime partner Julia Taka-Aho.

The couple chose a picturesque location in Rome, Italy, for their celebration, and the black-and-white wedding photos quickly made waves on Instagram.

In one touching photo, Miro and Julia stood in front of elegant arched doors, sharing a kiss. Julia wore a long satin gown with lace sleeves, while Miro looked sharp in a black tuxedo.

In the caption, she wrote:

"Forever isn't enough with you."

Miro Heiskanen's wedding in Italy draws comments from NHL wives and Dallas Stars teammates

The post quickly became a gathering point for NHL wives and girlfriends, who flooded the comments with love and excitement.

Lexy Marchment, wife of Seattle Kraken forward (and former Dallas Star) Mason Marchment, gushed:

"I'll never be over you as a bride."

Matt Dumba's wife, Blair Blanchette, added:

"Beautiful!!!! Congratulations you two."

Susanna, Mikko Rantanen's partner, commented:

"The most amazing!!! gonna frame this on my wall."

Even Jessica Benn, wife of Stars captain Jamie Benn, left a trail of white heart emojis to mark the moment.

Miro and Julia's relationship has been public since 2018. Julia, originally from Finland, studied business administration at Laurea University of Applied Sciences and now works in sales.

The couple lives together in Dallas and have a child and Pomeranian dogs, according to the article.

They weren't alone on their big day.

Jamie Benn, Mikko Rantanen, Radek Faksa, and even former Stars defenseman John Klingberg were all spotted in Rome, turning the wedding into a mini-Stars reunion.

Julie Hemsky, wife of former Stars player Ales Hemsky, shared:

"I've said it before and I'll say it many times over, the Finns know how to throw a good party! The most amazing weekend celebrating The Heiskanens in Rome."

She added another heartfelt line in a later post:

"I will never get over you in that dress @juliaevelinat."

Photos from the weekend included scenes from the Trevi Fountain and views of Rome's sunset skyline.

I think it's moments like these that remind us hockey players are human too. Weddings like this one show how tight-knit the Stars community has become.
