Dallas Stars Sign Kyle Burroughs to Two-Way Deal

The Dallas Stars are signing Los Angeles Kings unrestricted free agent defenseman Kyle Burroughs to a one-year, two-way contract. In 18 games last season for the Ontario Reign, had seven points on a goal and six assists. He was a plus-eight, and his lone goal came as a game-winner.

Burroughs spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Regina Pats. He appeared in 184 games, recording 81 points on 15 goals and 66 assists; he was a +13. Burroughs joined the Bridgeport Sound Tigers after the 2013-14 season, appearing in nine games but was held pointless. He returned to the WHL for the 2014-15 season. In 76 games between the Pats and the Medicine Hat Tigers, he had 39 points on seven goals and 32 assists; he was a +35.

Once he left the WHL, he would appear in 201 games in the NHL between four different franchises. Burroughs had 22 points on five goals and 17 assists; he was a -45 with a game-winning goal. He appeared in 342 AHL games between three franchises, recording 93 points on 19 goals and 74 assists. He’s a +29 with a power-play goal and a game-winning goal. In nine Calder Cup Playoff games, he has a goal and four assists. He’s a minus-six with a power-play goal. Burroughs also appeared in 18 ECHL games, recording a goal and six assists; he was a +11.
