David Pastrnak's First Post Since Brad Marchand's Trade to Panthers
Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

It is the end of an era for the Boston Bruins following the stunning trade of franchise legend and captain Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers on Friday. In return, the Bruins got a conditional second-round pick in the 2017 NHL draft.

Bruins fans are understandably filled with different emotions over the trade that saw the team part ways with one of its greatest players ever.

The same can be said about Marchand's now ex-teammates, including star Bruins forward David Pastrnak, who played 10-plus seasons with the one-time Stanley Cup champion.

Hours after Marchand's trade was announced, Pastrnak shared an Instagram story that didn't include a caption but was still very meaningful.

The post showed an overhead photo of Marchand, Pastrnak and another Boston legend, Patrice Bergeron, on the bench and watching the action on the ice. Among the players in the photo, only Pastrnak remains on the Bruins' roster.

Marchand is on an expiring contract that carries a cap hit of $6.125 million. He and Bruins apparently never got to agree on an extension deal, with Boston opting to send the four-time NHL All-Star Team member to a divisional rival.

In 1,090 games played in Bruins threads, Marchand collected 422 goals and 554 assists for 976 points with a career 56.4 even-strength Corsi For percentage.

Apart from Marchand, Charlie Coyle and Brandon Carlo were among the notable Bruins traded before the deadline.
