The Detroit Red Wings just dropped the puck on an afternoon game against the Nashville Predators. The trade deadline is fast approaching, and the Red Wings have been rumored to be looking for a defenseman and have been linked to Tyler Myers, which Elliotte Friedman claims could have a resolution within the next 24-48 hours on that situation. Amidst all the speculation of the trade deadline, the Red Wings add fuel to the fire as they place defenseman Erik Gustafsson on waivers, which would clear a roster spot. Gustafsson has played in 22 games this season with the Grand Rapids Griffins. He has 20 points on two goals and 18 assists. He’s a +18, both of his goals coming on the power-play, and he has a game-winning goal. In two games with Detroit, he was held pointless and was a minus-two.
