The Detroit Red Wings placed two defensemen on waivers today. The two defenseman are Justin Holl and Erik Gustafsson. Placing the two on waivers likely means that prospect Axel Sandin-Pellikka will make the team out of camp. The current Red Wings defenseman on the roster are Jacob Bernard-Docker, Ben Chiarot, Simon Edvinsson, Travis Hamonic, Albert Johansson, Moritz Seider, and Sandlin-Pellikka. The other two names to watch ahead of tomorrow’s roster finalization for opening night are Michael Brandsegg-Nygard and Emmitt Finnie who both had strong preseasons. It’ll also be interesting to see if either gets claimed or what Detroit does with them tomorrow afternoon.
