The Winnipeg Jets have suffered a devastating blow to their roster, as defenseman Josh Morrissey was hurt after an awkward fall and has not returned to the game.

The Winnipeg Jets are are attempting to force a Game 7 against the Dallas Stars, as they are tied 1-1 shortly into the 3rd period.

But they're going to be shorthanded the rest of the way, as defenseman Josh Morrissey was tangled up with Stars forward Mikko Rantanen in the corner late in the 2nd period, falling to the ice awkwardly.

Morrissey gingerly made his way back to the bench, barely able to put any weight on his leg, and soon made his way down the tunnel toward the team locker room with a trainer and did not return. He's not come out for the 3rd period, and his night is all but unofficially over.

Before his injury, Morrissey had skated in 14:56 of ice time.

Greiving Jets forward Mark Scheifele opened the scoring

Speaking of bad news for the Jets, Jets forward Mark Scheifele is dealing with a personal tragedy with the announcement that his father, Brad, had unexpectedly passed away the night prior.

After his status for the game was understandably uncertain, he decided to suit up and play. In a tremendous moment, he opened the scoring in the second period with his 5th goal of the postseason:

Scheifele had already missed time during the postseason with a concussion that caused him to miss 2 games in Winnipeg's opening round series against the St. Louis Blues.
