Devils sign Juho Lammikko to one-year contract

Lammikko was an unrestricted free agent as he hadn’t been under an NHL contract since the 2021-22 season. That year, he started with the Florida Panthers, the team he signed a one-year deal with, but ended up with the Vancouver Canucks after he and defenseman Noah Juulsen were traded north of the border in October 2021 for Olli Juolevi.

After that season, the Noormarkku, Finland native returned to Europe, joining the ZSC Lions of the National League, the top professional league in Switzerland. There, he experienced both individual and team success. In 2022-23, Lammikko led the team in scoring with 40 points. While he wasn’t the leading scorer in the next two years, he played a key role in helping the Lions win back-to-back league championships in 2024 and 2025.

On top of that, Lammikko and the Lions had a great run in the Champions Hockey League this past year. The 29-year-old scored 11 points in 12 games as ZSC captured the CHL championship for the first time in franchise history.

In 144 games with the Lions, Lammikko scored 48 goals and 65 assists for 112 points, including another 19 points in 32 playoff games.

During his time with the Panthers and Canucks, he appeared in 159 games, potting 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points.

Along with his pro career, Lammikko has been a constant presence on the international scene, representing Finland at the IIHF Men’s World Championships four times, winning gold in 2019 and 2022. He was also on the star-studded 2016 team that won gold at the IIHF World Junior Championship on home ice.
