As we peruse the NHL board on this Tuesday morning, one game sticks out for goal-scoring. We went ahead and started the day right by locking in an over bet already.
The Devils-Blue Jackets game very clearly rises above the top for expected goals, and instead of opting for just one team total, we take the entire game.
The Devils are averaging 5.2 goals per game on the road in their past five games, which is the top mark in the league.
Despite playing on a back-to-back, they shouldn't see much resistance to scoring from Columbus, who allow 4.0 goals per game at home in their past ten (fourth-most).
Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt have been rolling for this New Jersey team. Consider both terrific options for a goal bet or in a points parlay.
Then there's the Blue Jackets, who after two down games should be able to get back to the scoring tendencies we've seen from them the past few weeks.
In Columbus's last five home games, they average 4.4 goals scored per game, which is the third-highest mark in the NHL.
The Devils have allowed 3.6 goals per game in their last ten (and last five) on the road, both inside the top-ten most allowed.
It's a perfect unison of two high-scoring teams and two teams that struggle to slow down scoring.
Patrik Laine deserves a look from the Columbus side if opting for a goal-scorer.
Best Bet: Over 6.5 total goals (-110 DK)
