Dylan Larkin's Rumored Trade Demand Refuted By Insider

The Detroit Red Wings can breathe a sigh of relief, as Dylan Larkin won't be leaving the team anytime soon.

There were rumors spread online on Twitter, by a user who has since changed their name and profile picture, that Larkin requested a trade out of Detroit.

They claimed they had NHL Insider Chris Johnston as a source for the rumor. Which of course, if it doesn't smell right, verify.

Jimmy Murphy, himself a known Boston Bruins, refuted the report on The Sick Pod as well.

A post from user @sas11h, who has since changed their profile picture and nickname, claimed Johnston had told him about Larkin's supposed demand to be traded out of the organization.

Johnston wasted no time refuting the claim, making it clear he didn't know the original poster and the inaccuracy of that rumor.

Even as much as the Bruins would have loved to have a shot at picking up the Red Wings 1C, and Captain it'll never happen.

'This is patently, 100% false and fabricated,' Johnston posted on X quoting the original poster. 'I've never spoken with this person or reported anything of this nature.'

Larkin remains the anchor in the Red Wings Yzerplan, and will not be headed to Dallas or Boston.

It makes you wonder though, how desperate user @sas11h is for attention that they'd go through with this to create a stir online.

Now, the ploy has backfired and they've changed their name in shame.

Larkin has 21 points (9G, 12A) in 27 points for the Red Wings and is expected to lead them through their current rebuild.
