The Adirondack Thunder have signed forward Jacob Slipec to an ECHL contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. Slipec, 24, had four goals and three assists for seven points in 33 games last season at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He is the first college signing by the Thunder this season. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise after Lucas Helland was placed on waivers earlier this week after not playing in any games since being acquired from Cincinnati, and Tag Bertuzzi was recalled to the Utica Comets yesterday. Slipec may not see much playing time with Adirondack, but expect him to see action in a couple of games as the Thunder have a busy schedule over the next couple of weeks.

The White Rock, British Columbia, native has spent the last four seasons in the NCAA at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. During his time with the Mavericks, he had 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points in 124 games. Prior to playing at the NCAA level, Slipec spent parts of four seasons in the BCHL with three different teams. In 161 BCHL games, he had 41 goals and 46 assists for 87 points. He would add a goal and two assists for three points in 16 BCHL playoff games.
