ECHL: Allen Americans Sign Hudson Wilson

The Allen Americans have announced that they’ve signed defenseman Hudson Wilson to a contract for the 2024-25 season. Hudson has already played in two games during the 2024-25 season in Poland, putting up one assist. The left-handed shooting defenseman is the sixth blueliner signed by the Americans for the upcoming season. Wilson joins Mike Van Unen as the only other defenseman who didn’t spend last season in Allen. Van Unen played 11 games, putting up one assist with the Adirondack Thunder last year after finishing his collegiate career at Northern Michigan University. This will be his first professional season in North America. Heading into the season, I would expect the 6’3, 194lb defenseman to be a depth piece on the Americans blue line.

Prior to this season, the Toronto, Ontario native played five years in the OHL and played another three years in USports at Acadia University. In 266 games at the OHL level with the Ottawa 67’s and Peterborough Petes, he would put up six goals and 53 assists for 59 points and would play in 28 OHL playoff games, putting up one goal and seven assists for eight points. During his time with the 67’s, he would play with Anthony Costantini, who is the brother of Americans goaltender Marco Constantini. At Acadia, he would put up three goals and ten assists for 13 points in 70 games and wear an “A” in his final season with the Axemen. He would add one assist in seven USports Playoff games.
