The ECHL Department of Player Safety has announced two suspensions and three fines stemming from Sunday’s games.
Kalamazoo Wings defenseman Kylor Wall has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his action’s in Sunday’s game vs Bloomington Bison. Wall would throw Bloomington’s Ayden McDonald into the boards and then drop the gloves with Brad Morrison. He will miss tomorrow’s game vs Cincinnati Cyclones.
In 38 games this season, Wall has three goals and five assists for eight points.
Tulsa Oilers forward Easton Armstrong has been suspended two games and fined an undisclosed amount for his action’s in Sunday’s game vs Idaho Steelheads. At the 9:47 mark of the opening period, Armstrong would cross-check Idaho’s Charlie Dodero into the boards. He would be assessed a minor penalty on the play but the suspension comes under the title of Rule #28 Supplementary discipline. Armstrong is eligible to return on Febuary 13th vs Allen Americans. In 40 games this season with the Oilers, he has 15 goals and eight assists for 23 points.
Adirondack Thunder forward Daniel Amesbury has been fined an undisclosed amount for his action’s in Sunday’s game vs Maine Mariners. At the 14:35 mark of the third period, Amesbury would slash Maine’s Luke Cavallin which caused a brawl, leading to a near goalie fight between Cavallin and Jeremy Brodeur. In nine games this season, the Maple Ridge, British Columbia native has 63 PIMs.
Later in the period, Mariners defenseman Owen Gallatin would spear Adirondack’s Ryan Wheeler with less than 10 seconds to go which will cost him some money as well. In 28 games this season, the 23-year-old has a goal and six assists for seven points.
Kalamazoo Wings defenseman Davis Pennington has been fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in Sunday’s game vs Bloomington Bison. The Saline, Michigan native would spear Bloomington’s Lou-Felix Denis at 8:56 mark of the third period but wouldn’t be penalized for the spear on the play. In 37 games this season, Pennington has three goals and 18 assists for 21 points.
