AL FREY/for the Free Press / USA TODAY NETWORK

The ECHL Department of Player’s Safety has announced that Rapid City Rush forward Mark Duarte has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his actions during Friday’s game against the Utah Grizzlies . Duarte delivered a slewfoot to Utah’s Robbie Stucker at the 4:24 mark of the third period, but a penalty was not called at the time of the infraction. Friday was Duarte’s first game back with the Rush since January 13th, as he’s spent most of 2024 in the American League with the Calgary Wranglers; Duarte finished the night with two goals. In 28 games with Rapid City this season, the Ontario Native has put up 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points; he has yet to find the scoresheet in 15 games with the Wranglers this season. The Rush forward will miss tonight’s game vs Utah Grizzlies.
