MacArthur, 24, joined the Icemen midway through the 2024–25 season after starting the year with the Wheeling Nailers. In Jacksonville, he immediately provided an offensive spark, posting seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points across 36 games. He added four playoff appearances and while he didn’t record a point, his ability to generate chances and play a dependable two-way game stood out to the coaching staff.
MacArthur began last season under contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins before being acquired by the Sabres organization in a trade on January 3, 2025. Prior to the move, and before his reassignment to Jacksonville, he collected seven points (3g, 4a) in 28 games with Wheeling (Jacksonville Icemen, 2025).
Across his three full ECHL seasons, MacArthur has consistently found ways to make an impact. With the Allen Americans in 2022–23, he put together one of his strongest campaigns, recording 10 goals and 19 assists for 29 points in 43 games, while adding two goals in five playoff contests. Earlier that year, he chipped in three points in 12 games with the Orlando Solar Bears.
In total, he has logged 172 career ECHL games, producing 31 goals and 59 assists for 90 points, while appearing in multiple playoff runs (Jacksonville Icemen, 2025).
Before turning pro, the Summerside, Prince Edward Island native starred with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the QMJHL, wearing the “A” in 2021–22 and exploding for 42 goals and 35 assists (77 points) in just 54 games. He also made short stints in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch, appearing in six games over two seasons.
At 6’0” and 194 pounds, MacArthur brings size, skill, and versatility to Jacksonville’s forward group. His proven ability to score, distribute, and compete in key moments makes him a player to watch as the Icemen look to take the next step this season.
