The Adirondack Thunder have announced the re-signing of forward Chase McLane for the 2026-27 season. McLane, 26, is coming off his rookie season, where he had six goals and 12 assists for 18 points in 67 games. He also played in six games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Trenton, Michigan, native was a big part of Adirondack’s third line with Tag Bertuzzi and Brannon McManus. It was one of the Thunder’s best lines last season, as Bertuzzi and McManus seemed to get on the scoresheet every night. I expect McLane to have a similar role this season as a depth piece on the bottom-six. It will be interesting to see where he starts the year, with McManus expected to be out till November and Tag Bertuzzi signing an AHL deal with the Grand Rapids Griffins. Adirondack now has 35 players on their training camp roster.

Before joining Adirondack, the seventh-round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2020 spent three seasons in the USHL with the Tri-City Storm. Over the course of 100 games with the Storm, he had 13 goals and 35 assists for 48 points. He would add two assists in six games during the 2019 playoffs. McLane then played five years of college hockey. He spent his first four seasons at Penn State University, where he had 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points in 87 games before transferring to Colorado College for his final year of eligibility. In 33 games with Colorado, he had five goals and five assists for 10 points.
