Adirondack Thunder defenseman Dennis Busby is heading overseas to join the Manchester Storm of the EIHL after finishing the 2024-25 season in the ECHL. Busby joined the Fort Wayne Komets on March 13th after putting up 10 goals and 21 assists for 31 points in his final year at Saint Mary’s University. He all defensemen in games played (30), goals (10), assists (21), and points (31). The 25-year-old defenseman played four games with the Komets before being placed on waivers on 12 days later. He ended up being claimed by Adirondack. In eight games with Adirondack, he would put a goal and two assists for three points. He will join teammate Kaleb Ergang on the Storm. Busby was one of seven defenseman on Adirondack’s season-ending roster.
Prior to going pro, Dennis Busby spent time four years with the Flint Firebirds (OHL) and four years with Saint Mary’s University (USports). During his time with the Firebirds, he put up eight goals and 49 assists for 57 points in 154 games. He also saw action in five OHL Playoff games. In 2018, Busby would be drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the fifth round of the NHL Draft. Busby would take the 2020-21 season off before joining St Mary’s University. In four years with the Huskies, he played 84 games putting up 15 goals and 51 assists for 66 points. He would add two goals and 12 assists for 14 points in 22 playoff games. In his final season in USports, the Barrie, Ontario native would be named to the USports (AUS) Second All-Star Team.
