The Tahoe Knight Monsters have signed goaltender Dominic Basse to an ECHL contract for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. Basse, 24, is in his rookie year as he’s spent most of the season with the Utah Grizzlies, posting a 5-6-3 record with a 3.81 GAA and a .875 SV% in 14 games. He’s also seen four games in the SPHL with the Pensacola Ice Flyers, where he’s 2-1 with a .095 GAA and .969SV%. This comes after the Knight Monsters placed Conor McAnanama on waivers after spending the last two weeks with Tahoe. In four games against Tahoe this season, Basse went 2-2.
The sixth-round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2019 began his career in the USHL with the Youngstown Phantoms. In 37 games with the Phantoms, he 14-12-3 with a 3.48 GAA, .887SV%, and one shutout. Basse would then head to the NCAA level, where he played five seasons with three different schools. During his time in the NCAA, the Alexandria, Virginia, native went 34-46-8 with a 2.92 GAA, .896SV%, and seven shutouts in 95 games. In 2023, he was part of the Saint Cloud Huskies NCHC Championship team, posting an 11-5-2 record with a 2.30 GAA, .911SV%, and three shutouts in 19 games.
