ECHL: Dustyn McFaul Heads Overseas

The 26-year-old McFaul heads to Europe after a two-year stint with Fort Wayne. He logged 86 regular-season appearances for the Komets, scoring three goals and adding seven assists for 10 points. McFaul started his professional journey with the Florida Everblades in 2024, appearing in three games before joining Fort Wayne. His professional record now stands at 89 ECHL regular-season games. This assignment to Guildford marks McFaul’s first professional opportunity outside North America.

McFaul’s College Career

Before turning professional, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound defenseman spent five years competing at Clarkson University. Between 2019 and 2024, McFaul appeared in 149 NCAA games, posting six goals and 22 assists for 28 points. He served as Clarkson’s team captain during the 2022-2023 season. His extended time at Clarkson provided significant NCAA-level experience before his 2024 professional debut. The Boston Bruins selected McFaul in the sixth round (181st overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.

Junior Career and International Experience

During his junior career, McFaul primarily played for the Pickering Panthers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. He recorded seven goals and 28 assists for 35 points across 86 regular-season games with Pickering. McFaul also contributed two points in seven playoff games. During the 2018-2019 season, McFaul represented Canada East and competed in four junior international games.

The Waterdown, Ontario, native now joins Guildford as the team works to strengthen its defensive lineup following early-season injuries. McFaul brings NCAA leadership experience, nearly 90 ECHL games of professional play, and a strong defensive background that will provide Guildford with additional depth on the blue line as the season unfolds.
