Earlier today, the Greensboro Gargoyles announced a total of three roster moves. The first move saw defenseman Braden Doyle loaned to the AHL’s Chicago Wolves. In response to that call-up the Gargoyles announced the signing of defenseman Caleb Price. Defenseman True Crowe was also released from his SPC, and will return to the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs.

Braden Doyle

Braden Doyle has earned a call up to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. This is not the first time Doyle will be joining the Wolves, as he played nine games for them earlier this season. In those games Doyle was held scoreless, but did manage to get fifteen penalty minutes. Doyle was a sixth round pick by the Los Angeles Kings in 2019. This season is Doyle’s first as a professional, and he has one goal and seven assists in his 27 games with Greensboro. Recently Doyle has been logging heavy minutes as the Gargoyles have had a roster shakeup at the deadline.

Caleb Price

Caleb Price is a 25-year-old rookie defenseman who made his professional debut with the Norfolk Admirals this season. Before joining the professional ranks, Price played collegiately at Mercyhurst, where his final season saw him tally four assists in twenty-nine games. So far this season, Price has appeared in ten games, scoring a goal and adding four assists. Price is a slightly undersized defenseman who commits very few penalties. In his last 100 games, Price has only spent a total of 14 minutes in the penalty box. Fans can look for Price to get an opportunity on the bottom pairing, with his minutes increasing based on performance.

True Crowe

Earlier today, the Gargoyles announced that they released True Crowe from his standard player contract. This season was Crowe’s first as a professional. Crowe originally signed with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs before joining the Gargoyles and making his professional debut. In his first game with the Gargoyles, Crowe earned an assist for his first professional point. The defenseman has two assists in his three games with the Gargoyles this year. Crowe showed some promise for Greensboro, but ultimately may need some more time to develop in the SPHL before earning a full-time role in the ECHL. With Crowe being only 24, there is still plenty of time for him to grow and see significant time at the ECHL level.
