The Maine Mariners have announced that they’ve signed defenseman Xavier Henry to an Amateur Try-Out agreement (ATO). Henry, 24, had one assist in eight games this season while playing at the University of Vermont. He becomes the second college defenseman to sign with the Mariners, joining Tynan Ewart, who played in both games vs Adirondack. The 6’5, 216lb defenseman becomes the second Catamount to make the jump to the ECHL, joining Dylan Gratton, who signed with the Utah Grizzlies back in February. Henry will add some much-needed depth to the Mariners blueline and is currently the tallest D-Man listed on Maine’s roster.
