The Allen Americans have acquired forward Patrick Moynihan from the Reading Royals. It is unclear what the return was from Allen. This will be his fourth team in his young career. Moynihan, 24, has two goals and two assists for four points in 11 games this season with the Royals. He had a hot start to the season, putting up two goals and two assists in his first seven games, but hasn’t found the scoresheet in his last five games. For Reading, this is the second new forward they’ve brought in since acquiring Ty Voit from the Utah Grizzlies yesterday.

The Mills, Massachusetts, native is in his second season in the ECHL after putting up 11 goals and 25 assists for 36 points in 66 games with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits and Idaho Steelheads. He made his professional debut at the end of the 2023-24 season, playing in one game with the Chicago Wolves in the AHL.

Prior to going pro, Moynihan spent five seasons in the NCAA. He spent his first four seasons with Providence College, where he put up 37 goals and 34 assists for 71 points in 123 games with the Friars. During his last season of eligibility, he played at the University of Notre Dame, where he had 10 goals and 14 assists for 24 points in 36 games. He would finish second on the team in points. Besides his collegiate career, Moynihan won a U17 World Hockey Championship in 2018 and then won medals at the U18 and U20 World Junior Classics with Team USA.
