The Tahoe Knight Monsters have announced that they’ve re-signed their captain and forward Luke Adam for the 2025-26 season. Adam, 35, had 17 goals and 22 assists for 39 points in 70 games after spending eight seasons overseas. He would add a goal and two assists for three points in eight games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Adam is the fourth forward and ninth player signed by the Knight Monsters for the 2025-26 season.

Adam would begin his professional career in the Buffalo Sabres organization after being drafted by them in the second round of the 2008 NHL Draft. In his five seasons in the organization, he spent a good portion of them in the AHL with the Rochester Americans/Portland Pirates. In 240 games with the Americans, he would put up 117 goals and 98 assists for 215 points. He added six goals and eight assists for 14 points in 26 Calder Cup Playoff games with the Pirates/Americans. In December 2014, he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets. He would put up eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points in 46 games with the Springfield Falcons and saw three games with Columbus. Adam spent his final season in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack. He had 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points in 59 games.

Adams Overseas Career

The St.Johns, Newfoundland native would then head overseas to Germany, where he spent seven seasons in the DEL. He would put up 89 goals and 144 assists for 233 points in 317 games while playing with four different teams. Adam would win a DEL Championship in 2019 with Adler Mannheim. In his final season overseas, he would spend time in Czechia and Slovakia. During his time in Czechia, he put up two assists in seven games. In Slovakia, he would put up five goals and eight assists for 13 points in 21 games.
